Dr. Rex Forehand

Rex Forehand, Ph.D., is the Ansbacher Green & Gold Professor of Psychological Science and University Distinguished Professor. He joined VGN in November, 2017 as Senior Associate Director.

Rex served on the faculty at the University of Georgia for more than 30 years as Distinguished Research Professor and, subsequently, Regents Professor. In addition, he was Director of the Institute for Behavioral Research for 9 years where he oversaw the research and grant for 40 faculty members. In addition, he directed a Faculty Mentoring Program which was responsible for facilitating grant applications of young faculty members.

Rex and his wife Lell moved to Vermont in 2002, when he began at UVM as the Director of Clinical Training in the Department of Psychological Science. He has two grown children and two grandchildren. He looks forward to continuing to contribute to the University of Vermont through his role at VGN.
