Sample Storage / Retrieval Policy

Microarray Facility:
Sample submission, storage, and retrieval Policy

Qualitative Assessment using the Bioanalyzer:

For nucleic acid assessment, please bring a 2.5uL sample aliquot in a 0.5mL tube.  Samples should be in a rack/box, properly labeled with PI name and placed in the Microarray -20° C freezer located in 305 HSRF.  DO NOT BRING YOUR STOCKS.  Sample tube labels need to match EXACTLY what is entered under the “Sample ID” section of submitted order forms.  Please make sure that samples are at the proper concentration range for the chip analysis requested.  Any remaining sample will be tossed upon complete of the assessment unless otherwise indicated.

Microarray Target Preparation: RNA or DNA:

RNA for Expression Profiling Projects should be submitted as 200ng Total RNA, at a concentration of 20ng/uL or greater (for lower concentrations, see the Facility Staff).  Genomic DNA for Mapping Studies should be submitted at 400ng total DNA, at a concentration of 50ng/uL or greater in T10E0.1.  When dropping off samples at the Facility, they should be in a rack/box, properly labeled with PI name and placed in the Microarray -20° C Freezer located in 305 HSRF.  DO NOT BRING YOUR STOCKS. Sample tube labels need to match EXACTLY what is entered under the “Sample ID” section of submitted order forms.  Please make sure that samples are at the proper concentration for the Target Prep requested.  Any remaining sample will be stored for six months and then tossed by the Facility Staff at their discretion without prior notification.
